We have given careful thought to your
confidential letter of the 16th June about the
Public Services Commission, and we agree withr accept
your conclusions that Administrative and Police
vacancies should be referred to the Commission
We note in the same way as all others, and that, looking
view that
aboad to the day when good local material will
no longer be insufficient to fill these vacancies,
we can only trust to administrative action to the vacancies ensure that a suitable proportion of them is
remitted to the Secretary of State to fill from
among European candidates.
